This beautiful wooden lodge sits on the edge of the river Wensum, surrounded by stunning countryside and overlooking Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve; you will not find a more peaceful or tranquil setting to take a lovely break.
The Lodge is situated within its own private garden, on the banks of the river Wensum from where you will be able to enjoy all manner of visiting wildlife from kingfishers and swans, to the cattle that come down daily to drink from the river.
Jonathan and Alex have lived at Mill Ford house for over 30 years and been running the Lodge since the children flew the nest!
We have gathered a wonderful menagerie of animals over the years including two Shetland ponies, Tommy and Solomon, and of course not forgetting Jimmy the donkey. We also have a selection of chickens, guinea fowl and ducks plus Jonathan’s current passion, which is breeding pedigree Kerry Hill sheep, so lambs in the spring!
We welcome well behaved dogs and have three of our own, two Labs and a very busy Cocker Spaniel. The Lodge garden is fenced but the river does remain an option for the brave and determined!
We have a hard tennis court so if you fancy hitting a ball, we will be happy to provide rackets, we also have bicycles that we are happy to let you borrow, should you wish to explore the countryside further.
